Halal & Haram – Monday Nights with Imam Magid
This book from Imam Al-Ghazali’s Ihya Uloom Iddin (Revivial of the Religious Sciences) discusses the importance of both earning and consuming halal (permissible). Allah (SWT) says in the Quran, “Eat of the good things and do good deeds.”
As Muslims, it is important that we guard ourselves from allowing haram to be our source of livelihood and/or consumption. It is important for us to understand the clear line between the permissible and impermissible but also have a better idea of how to deal with areas that are doubtful. Imam Al-Ghazali provides insight into helping us understand halal, haram, and doubtful matters as it relates to our spiritual development. The class will also provide practical ways of how to apply these principles to our American-Muslim context.
This class is taught by Imam Magid on Monday evenings at 7PM.
